About Us

In 1998, our Animal Hospital was built from the ground up to suit the needs of a veterinary facility. It was laid out for the convenience of our clients and for the care of our animals. We have an ample and comfortable reception and waiting area in the front, which also houses our retail area for easy pick-up of pet products and supplies. For the medical needs of the pets we have:

• Two large exam rooms
• A multi-purpose treatment room, this contains our lab, the dental treatment area, an additional exam table and kennel facilities for hospitalized pets.
• An operating room with a heated surgery table and anesthesia equipment.
• An x-ray room with the table-top x-ray unit and development equipment.
• A bathing area for your pet's cleanliness and skin care.

When animals are sick it is vital to take measures to prevent the potential spread of germs or exposure to infectious materials and diseases. This can be very difficult in poorly planned or overly crowded spaces. We took great care in the design of our facility to ensure that your pet would be protected against exposure to contagious diseases or unhealthy elements. Aside from maintaining a high level of cleanliness and sanitation, we provide multiple cages and isolation areas to keep ill pets, or pets with unknown health histories, well separated from other pets. We even have facilities for hospitalizing smaller farm animals, such as sheep and calves.

About Dr. Kim

Dr. Kim Olson, just Doctor Kim to most, grew up surrounded by animals on a working dairy farm here in Minnesota. Something must have clicked as she not only decided to pursue a career as a Vet but still lives on a working dairy farm! She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota in 1993 and prior to opening Animal Health Services here in Atwater she spent time practicing in Hutchinson. When not taking care of your pets and farm animals, you will find her at work on her farm, out gardening, helping out with local 4-H projects and showing cattle.
